🛠️ What You’ll Do
As a SW Test Engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of legacy systems and modern cloud technology. You'll ensure the reliability, performance, and functional accuracy of mission-critical billing and operational systems.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
Execute manual and automated test cases across mainframe and cloud platforms.
Validate end-to-end batch cycles, JCL execution, and COBOL-based system flows.
Perform root cause analysis for discrepancies and system behavior mismatches.
Document test outcomes, issues, and maintain traceability through test management tools.
Analyze batch job failures, resolve ABENDs, and ensure test data integrity.
Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to enhance system testing life cycle (STLC).
Work with batch schedulers like ESP or CA7.
Ensure seamless connectivity validation via Connect:Direct (C:D) and MQ series.
Prepare and feed test data using VSAM, DB2, IDMS, IMS.
Contribute to test automation using QTP, REXX.
Operate in a DevOps/cloud-integrated environment including AWS and Azure tools.
🎓 Requirements & Skills
✅ Must-Have Skills:
2–6 years of experience in Mainframe Testing
Hands-on with JCL, COBOL, CICS, VSAM
Strong DB knowledge: DB2 / IMS / IDMS
Proficient in Batch Schedulers (ESP/CA7)
Experienced in resolving ABENDs and batch job failures
Experience in test case design, execution, and defect management
Working experience on Connect:Direct, MQ Series
Strong familiarity with Test Data Preparation techniques in Mainframe
Comfortable with at least one Cloud Platform (AWS, Azure preferred)
Exposure to QTP, REXX, or other Mainframe automation frameworks
Excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder collaboration
